Art Weekend..

This past couple of weeks we have been hitting the art scene hardcore. After we went to the zoo on Thursday, we headed downtown town to go to First Thursday. That is the night that all of the art galleries open up their new show, stay open late, and invite people to come see them. We got there kind of late so we were only able to see a couple of galleries before they closed. Peeking in the windows, we are going to have go check out some more.

On Friday I went and meet Bradley downtown. The SAM has a show up called Beauty and Bounty. There is about 100 American landscape art work currently on display. We have seen this show before but I was wanting to go see it before it goes down. After the museum we headed down to Pikes to get some steaks..yum yum!

After our steak dinners we headed to the Bellevue Art Museum. We listened to Micheal Cooper lecture about his art work. This was a different experience compared to the lectures in Utah. The lecture was packed full of people. When he finished talking about his art he took us all upstairs to show us more about his work in person. He has one sculpture that he fired up. I didn't know that it was kinetic. He had started it in around '77 and finished it this year. After hearing an artist talk about the work that they have done all of their life, it makes you look at their work different. Brad was wish-washy about going to this but he was glad to go in the end..

This is on top of the BAM the first time that we went to Bellevue.
