Today started out like any normal day off. Slept in and hung out at the apartment. It got to the point where we had to decide if we were going to do anything or just say home. I like to go on walks so we started out the door and headed north..after we had walked for about ten minutes, we decided that we would go and hang out at Green Lake. This is where we like to go dog watching. The dog activity wasn't too great so Brad asked if we could go to the zoo. It was in the neighborhood so off to the zoo we went.
The last time that we went to the zoo it was really hot outside so the animals were hanging out in the shade. Today it was overcast and a little drizzly. All of the animals were out and about. There was only 2 animals that we were not able to see and the reason for one of them was due to the fact that they were out on maternity leave :)
Libby looking at the hippos..
Libby standing by the naughty elephant. It was digging in the trash can. It would flip the lid open wide enough to get its trunk in it. I think that there was a treat in there for it but Bradley wasn't convinced.
Monkey's eating the trees..Primates are my favorite :)
Orangutans are too smart. All of them were playing with these pvc pipe connectors. This guy here has a 3 piece toy. He was using both hands to hold the ends and the middle part he was screwing on and off with his mouth. It was awesome to see how fast he was able to put it together and pulled apart again. Talk about using your resources.
Lion den..
He was looking right at us!
Otters are awesome and like to put on a show for people. They would only start to swim when someone would come up to the window :)
Secret penguin meeting..
Sleepy kitty..
Kitty is waking up..
This little gorilla was quite the ham. She had jumped off the log and was going to do a roll but as she rolled she had hit her head. She grabbed her head and went "oh." Just like a little kid. She was ok just a little over dramatic.
Whole gorilla crew..
This guy was Brad's favorite..
he had a hat.
Big kitty had a scratching post..
Flamingos
They are over rated..not as pink as you would think.
This bird's feathers were awesome.
We didn't care about most of the animals in the farm land because we grew up around them but this piggy was really pretty.
We stayed until the zoo closed looking at all of the animals. On our walk home we stopped by Kidd Valley. Burgers and shakes are the best! This made for a good Sunday outing..better then staying at home :)
